What do we mean by "modified"
The base softwood is treated with a formulated resin and then kiln dried. The drying process cures the resin condensing it to produce a large chemically-stable product.
This enhances the timber’s properties increasing durability against rotting and giving it greater stability and smaller movement.
LIGNIA® is produced in the UK manufactured from FSC®-certified wood. It meets the stringent emission requirements for internal applications in regions around the world and is used for both internal and external applications, and comes with a 50-year warranty against rot and fungal decay in above-ground uses. This durability matches or even exceeds in some categories the performance of hard woods such as ipe or European oak.
LIGNIA is beautiful high-performance wood, made to last, whatever life throws at it. For further information see the LIGNIA® Brochure
